Vasu Hotel Mahasarakham

Vasu Hotel Mahasarakham review: an older city hotel, a double room with bathtub, parking and contrasting recent reports about showers, cleaning and reception.

Vasu Hotel Mahasarakham is an established city hotel on Chaloem Prakiat Rama IX Road. Its stronger case is an ordinary room and parking in town, rather than a resort setting or a stay beside Phra That Na Dun. Recent accounts describe both clean, generously sized rooms and practical shortcomings, particularly the shower and uneven reception experiences.

01

The double room is clearer than the upgrade labels

Agoda lists a Double Bed room with one double bed, while Trip.com describes a Standard Double with a bathtub, air-conditioning, refrigerator and television. These are concrete features for comparing an ordinary overnight room. A bathtub is especially worth distinguishing from a shower-only bathroom when that affects the stay.

The current listings also carry Superior and Deluxe names without a reliable size comparison. There is no basis for assigning a larger floor area or a particular renovation standard to those labels. Choose the documented room description rather than assuming every upward-sounding name buys a materially different space.

02

An older building can still provide a clean room

A September 2026 Double-room guest found the room clean and a good size. A July visitor described the older building as showing signs of its more substantial past while remaining generally satisfactory. These are observations about condition and scale, not a verified construction or renovation history.

On Trip.com, an account published in April 2026 likewise praised the cleaning and service. The reports give a reason to consider Vasu for a straightforward city stop, without promising recently replaced furniture or contemporary finishes throughout the property. Someone choosing chiefly for a newly fitted room may want more current category-specific evidence.

03

The shower and small supplies need realistic expectations

The September visitor reported no hot water in the shower and found only tea rather than coffee in the morning. They still regarded the stay as acceptable for their purpose. A November 2025 guest separately said toiletries were not supplied during that stay.

These are useful details because a bathtub in a listing does not establish dependable hot-water performance. They should not be enlarged into a statement that every room always lacks hot water or basic supplies. If those features determine comfort, they deserve a current answer about the actual room.

04

Reception experiences differ across the accounts

Trip.com accounts published in March and April 2026 gave favourable comments about location and service. An older account published in May 2025 reported that their Trip.com reservation was not recognised on arrival and that they paid again. The account does not establish which business caused the problem or prove fraud.

That particular account matters when an arrival depends on a reservation made through an outside seller. It is sensible to establish that the property has the booking, rather than using a small set of conflicting reviews to declare the whole reception operation either dependable or unusable.

05

Parking and the city setting are the practical advantages

The September 2026 guest described a large parking area, a hospital opposite and a few basic places to eat nearby. Trip.com and Booking.com identify the same Chaloem Prakiat Road address. These details support a town-based overnight for someone travelling with a vehicle.

Phra That Na Dun is a separate district excursion. Vasu’s city services may be useful before or after that journey, but they do not place the hotel beside the relic monument. The recommendation is therefore a practical city room with older-building compromises kept in view, not a temple-side retreat.
