A river-view category is the important upgrade
Agoda lists Superior Twin at 36 square metres with two single beds and a city-view description. Deluxe Double and Deluxe Twin are also shown at 36 square metres, with a river view. Balcony or terrace features appear in these room details, alongside a refrigerator, desk and private shower bathroom.
This makes the room decision fairly concrete. Two friends can compare the Twin categories without assuming that Deluxe adds another seating room. A couple choosing the Double should pay attention to the outlook stated on the actual offer. The property name alone is not a guarantee that every room faces the Mekong.
Guests describe strong basic room performance
An Expedia guest who stayed in June 2026 praised the clean room, working facilities and particularly strong shower pressure. The same visitor found enough parking space. Another June guest described a comfortable stay and welcoming service. These are individual experiences, but they provide recent context beyond a riverside photograph.
A November 2025 visitor valued the helpful staff and the ability to walk to the Lao market and temple. The setting can therefore work for more than sitting on a balcony. It supports a small-town stay with outings on foot for guests who are comfortable doing so, while avoiding a claim that every temple entrance is a fixed number of minutes away.
Breakfast receives a more mixed response
The November 2025 guest mentioned a Western breakfast. A February 2026 reviewer instead felt that breakfast offered too little choice. These statements need not contradict one another: the meal served and the expectations brought to it can differ between visits.
The hotel's Agoda restaurant entry identifies Nathee Thong and Thai cuisine. Booking.com also lists an on-site restaurant serving breakfast and dinner. Neither source makes every booking breakfast-inclusive. Someone leaving early for a temple visit should establish the meal arrangement attached to the chosen room rather than treating the existence of a restaurant as a serving-time promise.
The river location and the town are the reasons to stay
The current property address is 258 Moo 2 in That Phanom, not central Nakhon Phanom. That distinction matters when planning an arrival from the airport or a wider provincial journey. This review does not turn an intercity transfer into an easy walk merely because the booking platform uses Nakhon Phanom as the destination name.
For the planned sacred-sites itinerary, the hotel supports Wat Phra That Phanom as a district base. Its river-view rooms add a reason to leave part of the stay unstructured. Other provinces in the atlas still require separate travel, and there is no evidence here of an included multi-temple transfer service.
A sensible choice when the view matters
The Deluxe categories are the more relevant comparison for travellers specifically choosing the Mekong outlook. The Superior Twin remains a distinct option when two beds matter more than that view. Their equal listed area helps keep the trade-off clear rather than suggesting that every upgrade buys a much larger room.
Recent room and service accounts are encouraging, while breakfast expectations deserve more restraint. Choose this hotel for a That Phanom stay with a documented river-view option, then treat dining and transport as practical parts of the visit rather than assuming a full-service resort package.
