Thararin Resort review: Ban Phue villas and twins, pool-condition cautions and the distinction between a northwestern district base and Udon Thani city.

Thararin Resort, also listed as Tararin Resort, is in Ban Phue on the Ban Phue–Nam Som Road. This is a district base in northwestern Udon Thani province, rather than another central-city hotel. Its villa and Twin rooms can suit a road trip, but the dated pool and level-change reports are important counterweights to the garden photographs.

01

The Ban Phue address changes the travel plan

Booking.com identifies the property at 223 Ban Phue–Nam Som Road, and the current Agoda identity belongs to the same Ban Phue resort. The spelling difference between Thararin and Tararin is less important than the district and road address.

A February 2025 Villa guest considered the location useful for Phu Phrabat Historical Park. That is a different attraction from Wat Pa Phu Kon. The two should not be treated as one temple or as sharing an entrance simply because both belong to a northwestern Udon itinerary.

Ban Phue may be worth comparing with a city overnight when your wider route is in this part of the province. It does not establish an immediate temple-side stay, and a driver should still check the actual onward route to Na Yung and the return arrangement.

02

Villa and Twin have different sizes and beds

Agoda lists Villa Double Bed at 28 square metres with one double bed and an outdoor-view label. Standard Twin Bed is 24 square metres with two singles. The villa therefore offers a modest increase in floor area, while the Twin solves a separate-bed requirement.

The February 2025 Villa guest found the room clean and liked the kettle, coffee provision and refrigerator. Those are practical conveniences for a road-trip stop, not evidence of a full kitchen. The booked category remains important when travelling with a companion who needs their own bed.

03

Do not choose it on the pool photograph alone

The same February 2025 guest described an old pool liner lifting away from the wall and floor. A separate account published in February 2026 liked the bungalow and garden setting but found the pool water somewhat green.

These observations concern particular times and do not establish the pool’s condition today. They do mean that a leisure swim should not be the unqualified centre of the recommendation. If pool use is essential, obtain a current answer about its condition and availability before selecting the resort for that feature.

04

The approach and interior levels deserve care

The February 2025 Villa guest described a change of level in the tiled reception floor that they had not noticed at first. That is a useful specific warning for someone concerned about steps or uneven transitions, without claiming that every route at the property is difficult.

No complete step-free route to the chosen room or accessible bathroom layout has been verified. A villa-style photograph does not establish ground-level access throughout. Ask about the actual path from parking to reception and the allocated room if level changes are a deciding issue.

05

A garden setting does not remove road noise

The account published in February 2026 liked the functional bungalow and welcoming reception while also mentioning road noise. Its stay date was not supplied, so it should be understood as a dated published observation rather than a current nightly measurement.

The setting can still appeal to someone who wants a district road-trip base rather than a central hotel tower. It is less persuasive for a guest seeking guaranteed quiet or choosing chiefly for the swimming pool. Those priorities need more current confirmation than the available accounts provide.

06

A targeted northwestern base

Thararin is worth examining when the Ban Phue position fits the actual road route and the room arrangement is clear. Its stronger case is a practical bungalow-or-Twin choice in the district, with the older amenity reports kept in view.

For Wat Pa Phu Kon, use the temple’s hall hours and an agreed outward-and-return route to shape the excursion. Do not substitute an account of visiting Phu Phrabat for evidence of direct temple access. The resort can support a broader regional chapter without being described as a hotel beside the shrine.
