Pornnarumitr Hotel review: compact Standard and Triple rooms near Wat Phra That Phanom, with dated reports of older equipment and allocation issues.

544 words · 3 min read · Editorial date 27 October 2025

Pornnarumitr Hotel is a straightforward That Phanom option whose older-room reports deserve as much attention as its temple location. The current Agoda room list includes a Standard Double or Twin and a Triple. It can work as a local overnight base, but the evidence does not support selling it as a recently renewed hotel with uniform room condition.

01

The Standard and Triple have the same listed area

The Standard Double or Twin is listed at 20 square metres, with either two single beds or one king bed. The Triple is also listed at 20 square metres, combining a single and a king bed. A third sleeping place therefore does not automatically bring a larger room.

That is a useful distinction for a small group carrying luggage. The Triple may solve the bed arrangement, while leaving less clear floor space for three people than a substantially larger family room would. Family Triple descriptions also appear among supplier room names, so the exact occupancy and bed configuration should be read as part of the offer.

02

Allocation and older-room experiences

An October 2024 Standard-room guest described difficulty finding the reservation and receiving a bed arrangement different from what they expected. The translated wording switches between “single” and “double” in a confusing way, so it is not sensible to use that account to define the hotel's bedding policy. The useful point is that the guest experienced an allocation problem during a period with tour groups.

A separate October 2024 guest found the room clean and spacious. These accounts show why the particular room and service encounter matter. They do not justify promising a problem-free allocation or assuming that every group arrival will cause the same difficulty.

A December 2024 visitor described an old but clean building with sufficient parking. A February 2025 guest was less satisfied, reporting ageing television and air-conditioning equipment and missing toiletries. Another October 2024 Triple-room guest felt that the room's age weakened its value.

The overlap is the older character of the accommodation; cleanliness and the completeness of the room setup vary between the individual reports. That is a more balanced description than either dismissing the whole property as dirty or presenting a tidy photograph as proof that all equipment has been replaced.

03

The temple location is its practical strength

Agoda's current address is 317 Moo 10 in That Phanom. A February 2025 guest specifically valued being near Wat That Phanom. Expedia identifies the same hotel under the spelling Pornnarumirt and lists a garden, terrace, restaurant and parking. These spelling differences should not lead to treating the entries as separate hotels.

The district location suits a visit centred on the stupa rather than Nakhon Phanom city's attractions. The evidence supports a local base; it does not establish an included airport transfer or a fixed walking duration for every visitor.

04

A modest option with clear compromises

This is a hotel to compare when the priorities are a That Phanom address and a simple sleeping arrangement. The 20-square-metre Triple deserves particular attention for a three-person booking because it adds a bed rather than a documented expansion in room size.

The older room and equipment reports should remain part of the decision, especially for travellers who care strongly about a newer finish or a reliably supplied bathroom. Those reports describe stays in 2024 and 2025. They are a reason for realistic expectations, rather than proof that the same issues affect every room now.
