Superior and Deluxe are not the same footprint
Agoda lists Superior Double and Twin rooms at 28 square metres and Deluxe Double and Twin rooms at 32 square metres. The double-versus-twin distinction is separate from the size increase: two people wanting individual beds should compare the Twin categories rather than assume a larger Double solves that need.
The hotel’s official website presents rooms alongside substantial meeting and event facilities. A guest-room renovation does not by itself establish that every corridor, public area or roof has the same recent finish. That matters at a property where the first impression of the outside can differ from the room actually allocated.
Recent stays describe different stages of room condition
An October 2026 Superior Twin guest described a renovated, clean room and a shower with adjustable warm and cold water. A September 2026 Trip.com Superior Double visitor similarly found the lobby modern while noticing the age of parts of the building and grounds.
Those observations make room-specific confirmation more useful than a blanket claim that Napalai is either entirely old or entirely new. A bright contemporary room in one review is evidence of that stay, not a guarantee that every Superior or Deluxe room has been refurbished in exactly the same way.
Breakfast is the recurring reason guests remember it
A January 2026 Superior Twin guest named pan-fried eggs, traditional coffee and other Thai breakfast choices, and liked both the room cleanliness and staff. A September 2026 Superior King guest also praised the breakfast and described complimentary room snacks during that stay.
The accounts are unusually specific about the meal, but the menu and room package remain separate questions. Do not assume the exact dishes recur daily or that breakfast and snacks are included in every offer. For a traveller planning a long morning journey, the value is a documented breakfast reputation, rather than a guaranteed list of items.
Noise depends on the actual room
The September 2026 Superior King guest reported disturbing corridor noise on the eighth floor and a quieter experience after moving to the twelfth. The guest thought a machine area might be nearby; that was their explanation, not an independently verified building diagnosis.
The hotel’s response acknowledged the disturbance and said the feedback would be reviewed. That reply is evidence that the complaint was recognised, not a certificate that the issue has been resolved. The change of room helped that guest, but it does not justify calling every high floor quiet.
Water and cooling reports also need their context
A January 2026 Agoda visitor found the water pressure, hot water and air-conditioning good. In contrast, an August 2026 Trip.com Superior Twin guest found cooling and water pressure weaker in the room used on that occasion. The differing accounts show that these practical features are not experienced identically by everyone.
The best use of those reports is to give cooling, shower performance and room position real weight in the choice, especially when someone is sensitive to heat or noise. They should not be converted into a claim that the whole hotel has a mechanical problem, or that one positive stay proves future consistency.
A full-service city stay before the forest-temple day
Napalai is most appealing when breakfast, parking and the ordinary services of a larger hotel fit the trip. Its room-size differences give a concrete basis for comparing Superior and Deluxe, while the guest accounts explain why current room condition should remain part of that comparison.
For Wat Pa Phu Kon, book the long outward-and-return vehicle journey independently of the room. The hotel is a Udon Thani base, not accommodation at the temple. Keep the hall’s 08:30–17:00 visiting period and the return plan central to that day rather than treating the city address as the end of the transport decision.
