Choose the room by both bed and area
Agoda lists Deluxe Double rooms at 27 square metres with a king bed, while Deluxe Twin rooms are 24 square metres with two singles. A Junior Suite is 41 square metres and lists a queen bed. The Double and Twin categories therefore differ in floor area as well as the obvious bed arrangement.
The current Grand Deluxe Double entry also shows 27 square metres. A more elaborate category name does not automatically mean a larger room. For friends needing separate beds, the Twin is the clearer starting point; for a couple wanting more space, the suite is the more substantial increase.
The category descriptions do not establish which rooms have the latest finishes. That is a separate question at Charoen, where guests have noticed renovation inside rooms alongside older parts of the property. Compare the particular offer rather than treating every photograph as an image of the room you will receive.
Booking.com currently gives ordinary Deluxe rooms as 215 square feet, smaller than Agoda’s category figures. The discrepancy is not explained by the listings. Someone choosing chiefly for floor area should confirm the exact room sold instead of treating either website’s figure as universal.
Recent guests notice the difference between rooms and public areas
A September 2026 Deluxe Double guest on Trip.com described a newly renovated interior while finding the reception and outside areas older. Another September Double guest liked the spacious, clean room and bathroom supplies. These reports support a mixed-age property expectation.
An older exterior is not proof that the assigned room will be poorly kept. Equally, a favourable account of a refreshed bedroom does not establish that the whole complex has been modernised. The distinction is particularly useful when photographs of the lobby and room seem to tell different stories.
A central address with ordinary city conveniences
The current Agoda address is 549–559 Phosri Road, Mak Khaeng. September 2026 Trip.com guests mentioned the shopping and station area, including Central and UD Town. Those are reasons to use the hotel for a city chapter, rather than an isolated resort stay.
Parking was praised in a September business visitor’s account. That is useful for a self-drive itinerary, but it is not a reserved-space guarantee at every arrival time. The city address is also separate from the long outward journey to Wat Pa Phu Kon.
Breakfast and the transfer need separate expectations
A September 2026 Double guest particularly enjoyed pan-fried eggs at breakfast. That is a specific individual report, not a fixed daily menu or evidence that breakfast is included with every rate. The package chosen should identify whether a morning meal is part of it.
A June 2026 Twin guest said the airport transfer was no longer free and described a scheduled return service. No current fare or departure frequency is promised here from that one stay. The practical implication is to confirm a transfer rather than build an arrival plan on an old free-shuttle description.
Service accounts are not completely uniform
September 2026 visitors praised the staff’s welcome, while the June Twin guest found check-in organisation less orderly when several people arrived. These reports concern different occasions. They are more useful as a balanced account than a blanket assurance that arrival is always immediate.
Charoen is worth comparing when a city location, parking and an established hotel’s room range fit the trip. It is less compelling if the main requirement is a property that looks newly built throughout. Room category, actual finishes and transport arrangements deserve separate decisions.
Give Wat Pa Phu Kon its own day plan with an agreed vehicle and return. The hotel’s central conveniences can help the rest of the stay, but the forest temple is not a neighbourhood outing from Phosri Road.
