Pentahug Hotel

Compare Pentahug’s 32-square-metre rooms, breakfast appeal and sharply different recent guest accounts about cooling, staff and stairs.

Pentahug, also styled Pen Ta Hug, is an Ubon city hotel whose breakfast earns more consistent praise than every aspect of its rooms. The room descriptions offer useful space, but recent guest accounts differ markedly on cooling and service. It deserves consideration for a practical city stay, with particular attention to stairs and the exact bedroom chosen.

01

Room area does not distinguish Superior from Deluxe

Agoda lists both the Superior and Deluxe at 32 square metres. The Superior entry offers twin beds or a king, while the named Deluxe entry has a king bed. An upgrade therefore should not be justified simply as a larger room: the stated area is the same.

A traveller sharing with a friend has a clear reason to inspect the twin option. A couple wanting a king should compare the actual room description and furnishings rather than assume Deluxe guarantees a complete refurbishment. The category label alone establishes neither a newer mattress nor a different cooling system.

02

Recent experiences point in different directions

A Trip.com guest posting in July 2026 praised clean, peaceful accommodation, staff recommendations and breakfast, and reported borrowing a bicycle. An April 2026 guest also liked the quiet atmosphere and friendly staff. These are positive individual experiences, rather than a guarantee of a bicycle or a particular employee on a future visit.

A June 2026 Trip.com account was much less satisfied, describing complicated check-in, poor cooling and difficulty contacting staff using the room telephone. That guest nevertheless liked the breakfast variety. The disagreement is important: breakfast praise should not erase a room-comfort complaint.

03

The stairs can matter more than the room size

The June guest also reported no lift and difficulty carrying luggage on the stairs. That is a practical caution for someone who has difficulty with steps. Establishing the assigned floor is more useful than choosing a nominally higher category and assuming that it will be easier to reach.

A spacious room can be appealing after an outing, but it does not solve the route from reception to that room. The available account supports asking about a suitable low-floor arrangement; it does not establish a fully step-free property or guarantee that such a room will be available.

04

Breakfast is a stronger recurring theme

A September 2026 Trip.com guest again liked the food and reception. Traveloka’s individual guest records also repeatedly praise breakfast, although that page displays relative ages rather than reliable calendar stay dates. Those older records are useful background and are not presented as separate dated 2026 stays.

Food quality and meal inclusion are different questions. A guest can enjoy a substantial breakfast without proving it is included in every current rate. Someone leaving early for a road excursion should also consider whether their actual schedule allows time for the meal that contributes much of the hotel’s appeal.

05

Choose it for the Ubon portion of the itinerary

The booking listings agree on 13 Soi Sukha Uppatham 9. That places the stay within Ubon’s urban itinerary, with Wat Phra That Nong Bua a separate local journey. The remote Phu Phrao temple requires a longer transport plan and should not be treated as a nearby evening stroll from this address.

Pentahug is most convincing when the 32-square-metre room, food and city setting match the trip. The mixed recent accounts argue for giving cooling and floor access genuine weight. It is a more defensible choice for a traveller comfortable evaluating those details than for someone seeking an unquestioned, uniformly renewed hotel standard.
